The 2011 Orange County All-Girls Math Tournament is hosted by Orange County Math Circle to encourage more girls’ interest in mathematics, as part of our ultimate goal to strengthen overall math culture.
PARTICIPATION
This free event is open to all girls in 3rd – 8th grades from public, private, or home schools on a first-come, first-served basis.
PROGRAM
This event will consist of an individual round of written exam (sample questions provided below) and a team round of math games and puzzles for all participants, a guest speech, and an awards ceremony.
SCHEDULE
- 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Check-In/Welcome
- 01:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Individual Round (Written)
- 02:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Break
- 02:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Team Round (Games)
- 03:15 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Break
- 03:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Guest Speech
- 04:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony
AWARDS CEREMONY
Students will compete amongst their own grades and skill levels. Winners from each grade will receive trophies and medals for their accomplishments and mathematical skill. Top teams from the team round will win buckets of candy.
