Our Advisory Board
Jonathan F. Li, Harvard University, Class 2015
A freshman at Harvard University, Jonathan (“Johnny”) loves to share the joy of problem solving with others. Johnny founded Orange County Math Circle in 2007 to strengthen math culture in his hometown, with the belief that age, gender, and socio-economic background should not pose barriers to learning.
Johnny is a 2011 Intel Science Talent Search (STS) Finalist, 2010 Davidson Fellow and a member of the 2011 & 2010 United States Physics Team. A four-time USA Math Olympiad (USAMO) qualifier, he made the USA Math Olympiad Summer Program (MOSP) in his freshman year, and earned the title of State Winner for scoring perfect on AMC 10 in 2007 and 2009 and AMC 12 in 2010. Johnny also conducts math research at UC Irvine. He presented at Society for Mathematical Biology 2010 Annual Conference and MathFest 2010 in Brazil and Pittsburgh respectively.
After leading OCMC since its founding, Johnny will focus on fund-raising and mentoring other volunteers to bring the enjoyment of mathematics to our community.
